Warrior Sky broke his maiden status by winning the1300m Hidden Dragon @ Lyndhurst Maiden at Eagle Farm.

Starting a short priced favorite and jumping from an inside gate, jockey Michael Cahill had the 3 year old son of Show A Heart in the perfect spot just off the pace during the run. After turning for home, Cahill asked him for an effort and although not appearing comfortable in the conditions managed to get up to the leader close to home before being severely interfered with by the horse first past the post. Cahill was quick to lodge a protest on dismounting and the Stewards agreed with his arguments, awarding him the race.

“ The horse really showed some “tikker” today as that was a tough, courageous effort. Even though he is by Show A Heart he did not appear very comfortable in the conditions and he still did quite a few things wrong, including pulling and hanging. But he is getting better every time he goes to the races, so he is learning quickly. Michael, who has ridden him at all three of his starts said pretty much the same thing after the race” commented Dan Meagher

“It was very pleasing to win for Ontrack Thoroughbreds and the many owners who are involved in this Ontrack Syndicate.  They are a great bunch of people and are passionate about their racing. From that run you would expect that he would get a bit further than the 1300m of this race. But we will just see how he comes through today and then have a sit down and decide where we go next.” Commented Co Trainer Chris Meagher
