Hialeah Jet won his second race from as many starts this preparation by comfortably saluting in the Coolum Beach Realty Class 1 Handicap over 1200m at the Sunshine Coast.

Favorite backers had their hearts in their mouths with 200m to go as it appeared that there was no way he would be able to extricate himself from a pocket on the rails. But relief was in sight as jockey Ashley Butler was able to manouvre his way out and he charged home, winning easily in the end.

“That was a really good win and it was most pleasing to see him settle just behind the pace. Like everyone else I thought we were in a lot of trouble in the straight, but Ash was able to seize an opportunity and to the horses credit he bullocked his way through and got there easing down. He does seem to race very well fresh so we will keep his runs spaced. The way he is going at present he deserves the chance to step up a bit so we will probably try to find a nice race for him in town.” commented co trainer Dan Meagher.

Jockey Ash Butler was a happy man after the race, stating “ the horse is really flying at the moment and I would really like to thank the many owners, especially Grant Morgans from OnTrack Thoroughbreds for allowing me the opportunity to stay on him, despite the fact that I can’t claim at the Provincials. Also the Meaghers', as usual, turned him out a treat so that made my job much easier.”
