Paris Comes To Ipswich

Oct 12, 2013

Three-year-old Wonderful World filly Caris In Paris broke her maiden status at Ipswich today, winning the Daimler Trucks F&M Maiden over 1000m in convincing style.

Although a drifter in the betting she jumped quickly from her wide gate, mustering good speed early and leading. After turning for home she sped away from her rivals, winning by three lengths easing down.

“She is a speedy little thing, Beau (Appo) followed instructions to the letter and she was just too good for them today. She really improved after her last run at the Sunshine Coast and we were pretty confident leading into this race, with the only concern being the wide barrier. In the end there was nothing to be worried about as she ended up getting an easy lead and blew them away. It is also great to get our first winner up here for BPK Racing and the Schembri family, all of whom have been with us since day one in Brisbane and without their support getting started would have been much tougher.” commented co- trainer Dan Meagher
