Devil Heart, the well-bred daughter of Show A Heart proved her quality by easily winning the Hahn Super Dry Maiden Plate over 1000m at the Sunshine Coast. Despite drawing a wide gate, jockey Ric McMahon was happy to let her settle wide just off the pace, before allowing her to cruise up to the leaders after turning for home and run away for a very soft win.
“That was impressive for a horse that has not started for more than two years. She has had quite a few problems, rotating her pelvis when she was younger and we are grateful the owners gave us the opportunity to try and get her back to the track. They have shown a tremendous amount of patience and we are really happy to get that win for them. Judging by what she did today and the time she ran there should be more wins in store, but we will just see how she pulls up and take it from there.” Commented Dan Meagher
Patriarch of the training partnership, John Meagher was also a happy man. Commenting that she was an exceptional mare winning the way she did, especially after considering the problems that she has had and that all the “kissing and cuddling” has finally paid a dividend.
