Gotta Love Darci proved too strong for his opposition by powering home to win the Queensland Advertising Handicap over 1200m at the Sunshine Coast. Starting from an outside gate, jockey Robbie Fradd had the son of Darci Brahma sitting well back in the field before securing an inside run in the straight to secure what was an easy win in the end.

“He is probably better suited over a bit more ground than the 1200m of this race. However, we have kept him fresh and his trial the other day was terrific, so we always felt he would run well. You will see the best of this horse once he steps up to 1600m as he is bred to go further. These types are renowned for sprinting well fresh and he was no exception today, with Robbie just letting him do his own thing at the back and then using his excellent turn of foot.” Commented Dan Meagher

Chris Meagher was also full of praise for horse and rider, saying “Robbie rode him a treat as we told him before the race that he would finish it off very well, so sitting out the back and waiting for opportunities was just the perfect way to ride him. It was also great, as it has been a real team effort from everyone to get him up today.”

“ It was great for the owners to win today and we would especially like to thank Grant Morgans from OnTrack Thoroughbreds for giving us the opportunity to train him, once it was decided to sent him up to Queensland from Victoria. I think he will make a nice middle distance type horse in the future and am sure there will be more wins in store for him.” Commented John Meagher
