After a frustrating string of placings, Chaste Angel finally broke her maiden status in winning the 1200m Conxion Maiden Plate at the Gold Coast. After clearly winning the start, jockey Andrew Spinks allowed her to settle right on the leaders tail before driving home in the straight to win by a clear margin.
" We are so pleased for the owners, as she has been racing really well, but has just not been able to "crack it" for that elusive win. Considering she is only a pretty small mare, she has been coping with racing very well and very rarely has run a bad race. She is as honest as the day is long and it was terrific to see her "get up"." Commented Dan Meagher
Chris Meagher was also pleased to see the maiden status broken. "Thank god she finally won one after knocking on the door for so long. It was a very well deserved win. She has done a really good job this time in so she can go out for a break on a positive note. Hopefully she can put on a bit of condition and we will see a stroger horses next time in."
