Holy Harry broke his maiden status in winning the 2200m S&R Ball Property Investments Maiden at the Gold Coast. After jumping well and settling just behind the pace, jockey Dan Griffin was able to make a move around the leaders turning for home and keep that momentum going to line to win by a length.
"It was a good win, he is an out and out stayer and after a few runs back he was really primed for this. Dan had him in the right place throughout and as expected he finished the race off nicely. He is not an overly big horse, so we have to look after him a bit and space his runs, but now he is fit we see him continuing to perform well in these longer type races." Commented Chris Meagher
" It was good to win our first race for Luke Trevanion and the other owners involved in the horse. It has taken him a little while but we have always thought of him as a stayer and it has just taken a few runs to get him fit enough for this type of trip. The stable has been going super so well done to all the staff, they are all doing a terrific job and that is showing in the results." Commented John Meagher
