Cruising Speed ended a most successful day for the Meagher stable, James Orman and Ontrack Thoroughbreds at Eagle Farm. The win was the was the final leg of a winning treble for the stable and James Orman and the second leg of a winning double for Ontrack Thoroughbreds.

"We have a very good opinion of this filly and she really showed why today. Her first up run was pretty normal for her, but second up she really grows a leg so to speak. Accordingly, despite her being quite big odds were were quietly confident going into this race. Things didn't look so good when she was caught wide, but Jimmy didn't panic and just allowed her to roll along in a nice rhythm and get some cover, which helped enormously. She was probably exposed a little early so she showed real courage to keep going and finding more right to the line." Commented Chris Meagher

John Meagher was also very happy with the win and the days proceedings. "It was a great day for the stable and so nice to get a double for Ontrack Thoroughbreds. All of our horses, especially our younger ones are flying at the moment, so credit must go to Chris and the team of stablehands, track work riders etc for the effort they have put in. It is amazing what a few winners does to the overall morale and hopefully the winners will continue to flow."
