Savannah Amour, treated a small but strong field with contempt when winning the 1110m Zouki Group QTIS 3 Year Old Handicap at Doomben. Starting from a nice barrier, jockey Jim Byrne was able to have her travelling comfortably behind a solid pace before bringing her around the leaders turning for home to win eased down by a length.

"We were very happy with her going into this race, her work and jump outs being exceptional. We have not fully wound her up so she will improve quite a bit from this run, so we are looking forward to her winning more races. We are glad that Jimmy stuck with her and he rode her a treat, giving her every possible chance. She is still learning, as she floated once she got to the front, so once she learns to "get through her gears" she will be a very competitive in stronger races." Commented Chris Meagher.

Co-trainer John was also impressed by the performance. "Based on that run and what she has shown us she should get 1600m, so to win over 1110m was a terrific effort. Congratulations to the owners, managed by OnTrack Thoroughbreds and we are certainly glad that Grant Morgans gave us the opportunity to train her. She is well bred and will turn into a much better horse as she gains further experience, so her future looks bright. Also thanks to the staff, who along with Chris put in a huge effort to get these horses right for race day."
