The 1400m Carlton Mid 3 Year Old Handicap at Eagle Farm saw Billy The Kid continue on his winning way. Ridden by regular rider Luke Dittman, "The Kid" jumped well and settled right behind a nice even pace. On turning for home he looked to be off the bit and struggling but found his right gear after some urgings from Dittman and surged to the line for an easy 2.5 length win.

"It was a nice effort and he is progressing very nicely at this stage. Every time we raise the bar he steps up, so we feel he is quite a good horse in the making. He is still leaning, as Luke said he was just cruising and happy in doing so turning for home, so he had to give him a couple of good cracks to get his mind on the job. Once he learns to get through his gears he should progress to better races." Commented Chris Meagher

"To win another race for our long time supporters Heran Racing is very pleasing. This guy has had a few issues, so for them to show the patience they have is great and now we are seeing the rewards of that. He is by Savabeel so as he learns more we can see him getting out further in distance. Thanks again to all of our staff, they continue to do a tremendous job." Commented John Meagher
