Rich Affair, notched the second win of his short career when scoring in the 1200m Ascot Childcare & Kindy 3 Year Old Handicap at Eagle Farm. After jumping well, jockey Ronnie Stewart was able to go forward and have the gelding sitting in third spot, one off the fence and travelling comfortably. On straightening he was able to come around the leaders, taking the lead at the 200m mark and in the end hold on to score by a comfortable half length.

"He had a slight wind problem and after his first win we had him operated on and he appears to have come back very well. We have a good opinion of this fellow and the owners wanted to try and qualify him for the Magic Millions Guineas, so he has started in some good races and ran well. Although todays field was quite strong, he was down in grade a tad, which I think helped him immensely. At his best we knew he would be right in this but his last couple of starts knocked him around a bit, so we were not 100% sure he would perform at his best. He did and won and really that is all you can ask, so we are very happy and are sure that his owners are as well." Commented Chris Meagher

"it was a very nice win and good for the stable to notch up another winner, especially on a Saturday in town. The heat has been affecting the horses quite a bit so hopefully we can get some relief over the next few weeks and it is an absolute credit to the staff for us to still have 3 winners in the past few weeks. This horse has done a really good job and Ronnie rode him a treat, doing exactly what he had planned before the race. He is still does a few things wrong and stop starts a bit, but he will overcome that with more racing and I am sure there are morse wins in store for him." Commented John Meagher
