Monteux continued his good recent form with a strong win in the 2040m Help Enterprises Open Handicap at Doomben. After jumping well, jockey Micael Cahill, was happy to sit behind just behind the pace and make a move turning for home. After putting 3 lengths on the field half way down the straight he then fought on doggedly to hold the short priced favourite on the line.

"This fellow was probably a bit unlucky last start and he pretty much proved that today. He has been working really well so we were confident of him running well. He does seem to race better when he is closer to the pace and Michael rode him very well. Andy Kermond and the rest of the staff have done a great job with all of our horses so it is great to see the results of their hard work pay dividends. Also it is terrific to win another race for Paul Fudge of Waratah Thoroughbreds and I am sure he will be happy with this win." Commented John Meagher
