Gatlinburg scored his third straight victory when blousing his opposition over the final 150m to easily win the 1050m Assa Signs BM75 Handicap at Doomben. Jockey, Bridget Grylls was happy to allow the field to surge forward from the start and settle towards the rear of the field, before coming around horses turning for home and accelerating quickly, to score by a short margin, but in a decisive manner.

"This fellow just keeps on improving and riding him quietly has really worked well. He appears to appreciate having his runs spaced and being kept on the fresh side, with the acceleration he shows and the final sectionals he is running, being above average. They ran home the last 600m in 33.70, so considering how far he was from the leader he would have been sub 33.00. I am sure Paul (Fudge) from Waratah Thoroughbreds would have really liked the way he hit the line and it is a pleasure to train for such a group. I can't give enough credit to Andy (Kermond) and the rest of the staff, as they are doing a terrific job with all of our horses in Brisbane and they are running very well at present." Commented John Meagher.
