Divine Dice scored his first Victorian win, when easily accounting for his rivals in the 1200m Classic Bet BM70 Handicap at Seymour. Starting from a mid field gate, jockey Jess Eaton allowed the son of Casino Prince to stroll to the lead and after turning for home, kick away for a relatively convincing win.
"He was pretty unlucky last start at Moonee Valley, when he just could not get a run, so we were confident that if he showed similar sort of form he would run very well today. On paper there was quite a bit of speed, so we were looking for Jess to try to drop in behind it. But with the scratchings and the way things panned out there was none and Jess summed that up really well after the gates opened and went forward. In the end it was a winning move as she was able to get him to relax and control things, before giving him his head in the run home. He has run some very good races and times in Queensland, so thanks to the owners for agreeing to let us bring him down here and we are glad he has repaid their faith. Also thanks to all of our staff, as this guy can be a real handful, so they have done a tremendous job with him. Also congratulations to Jess Eaton as she only transferred to us a couple of weeks ago and it was great to see her win on her first ride for the stable."Commented Chris Meagher
