Mialign showed how much she loves the wet with a strong win in the 1140m Silvan Ridge BM58 Handicap at Geelong. After jumping straight to the front, jockey Ben Melham just allowed her to have her own way before coming to the outside of the track in the run home to win easily by 3 lengths, eased down.

"It was a good ride and a very good win. I just told Ben that she usually wants to get on with it, so not to fight her and just allow her to get into a rhythm, which he did to perfection. She has won in New Zealand on a Heavy 10, so we were extremely happy to see the rain come and that definitely helped things. We will look to run her through the grades and we are expecting a nice winter campaign, especially when there is give in the ground. It was great to win a race in Victoria for Waratah Thoroughbreds, who have been excellent supporters of ours, both in Brisbane and now here. Paul Fudge has put a lot of money into racing so it was nice for him to get something back and we are confident that this mare will keep improving as we raise the bar. Thanks also to all of our staff, both at Mornington and Brisbane, who do a terrific job." Commented Chris Meagher
