This week was a great for the stable, with Chris winning the 2018 Wayne Wilson Medal, awarded by the Australian Trainers Association Queensland Division.
Each month the Association select a trainer they consider, has had achievements beyond the norm for that particular month. At the end of the season 14 industry participants are then asked to rank, on a 1 to 12 basis, each of the nominated trainers. The trainer with the highest number of points being the winner.
Obviously, the multiple group winning mare, Savanna Amour, had quite a bit to do with this, but we also cannot forget all of the other winners and placegetters we have had over the course of the season, so we have to thank all of our owners for the support they have given.
You are only as good as the people you have around you, so a big thank you is in order for the staff at both Mornington and Eagle Farm, especially forepersons, Paul Meagher and Andy Kermond, who both keep things ticking over whilst Chris is interstate. We also cannot forget John Meagher, who continues to be a solid sounding board in relation to all the horses in the stable.
