After quite a while out of the winners stall, Rich Affair bounced back to win the 1200m Simon Carey BM75 Handicap at the Gold Coast. Starting from an inside gate, jockey Nathan Day had him first out of the barriers, before giving up the lead and settling in second position. Turning for home, Nathan bought him around the leader, working nicely to the line, for a relatively easy win.

"This horse has always tried his heart out and it was just fantastic to see him win another race. We have been dogged by bad barriers and heavy tracks, but today everything was perfect and he showed what he can do with the right barrier and race. Nathan rode him perfectly and it was great to be able to give him a winner, as he has been helping us out quite a bit with track work. This win should give him a heap of confidence going forward, so we will now just have to find another suitable race. Congratulations to all the owners, it has been a while between drinks, but the wait has now been worth it. Thanks also to all the staff, who continue to do a tremendous job for us." Commented Andy Kermond stable foreman in Brisbane.
