May Be Fate broke his maiden status with a strong win in the 1300m GD and SL O'Sullivan Builders Maiden Plate at Seymour. Although starting from a wide barrier, jockey Noel callow was able to situate him perfectly, one off the fence with some cover, after about 300m. From there he moved into the race strongly approaching the turn, before picking up the leaders and drawing away to win by a little over a length.

"He is a nice horse, but is still a little immature, mentally and physically, so it has taken us a while to get him right. Today he was spot on for the first time so it was nice to see him win the way he did. Noel did a great job and to be able to position him so well from the wide-ish gate and have him travelling. We have to thank the owner, Brian Nguyen, firstly for giving us the horse to train and also his patience in giving us time to get him right. Thankfully it has all paid off now. Also, you are only as good as your staff, so a big thanks you to them for the job they are doing." Commented Chris Meagher
