Despite a huge drift in the betting, Mystic Eyes defied the opposition to win the 1200m Sirromet 0-65 Fillies & Mares Handicap at Ipswich. Jockey Tegan Harrison was quick to take advantage of the inside draw, having the mare leading at a comfortable rate. Turning for home she maintained her lead and dug deep in the finish to win by almost half a length.

"It was an excellent win and Tegan rated her perfectly. We thought that the 1200m was maybe a bit short for her but still expected her to run very well. At this stage we feel that she will be more competitive when she gets over 1350/1400m, so we will just allow her to work through her grades. It was also great to get a Metro win against her name, as Heran Racing, our long time supporters, will be looking to breed from her in the future. The staff in Brisbane are doing a great job, so much of the credit must go to them." Commented Chris Meagher
