Ontrack Thoroughbreds have a new horse with Amour in its name, namely Makfi Amour, who was a very good winner of the 1200m XXXX Gold Maiden Plate at Pakenham. Starting from a relatively wide gate, jockey Ben Melham went forward to lead after jumping well. After being rated well, he gave a nice kick turning for home and was able to get to the line to win by a long neck.

"We are very pleased to get another winner for our longtime supporters at Ontrack Thoroughbreds. Grant Morgan bought this fellow in New Zealand and he had his first preparation with us at our Brisbane stable where he showed he had the capacity to turn into a handy horse. As such, it was decided to bring him down to Melbourne. He has proved us right so far with an excellent third forst up and now this win. He will be much better suited when ridden a bit off the pace and have something to chase, but Ben did the right thing today from the wideish gate. Thanks again to all our staff in Melbourne and Brisbane, who are doing a tremendous job. We have now had two winners in Brisbane and a first and second in Melbourne over the past week, which is testament to their efforts." Comment Chris Meagher
