Arctic Shock broke her Maiden status in fine style in easily accounting for her rivals in the 1600m Electronic Signage Australia 3 Year Old Fillies & Mares Maiden Handicap. Starting from a wide gate, jockey Ben Melham was able to have the filly in the perfect spot, one out and one back and travelling well with herself. Turning for home, he then gave her time to balance up before cruising to the lead at the 200m mark and then drawing away for an easy win.

"It was a terrific effort and a very good ride from Ben. I think this is quite a progressive filly and she looks to have a decent future, especially as a stayer. The step up to 1600m really suited today and we were quite confident of her running well. She is the type of girl who does not need a lot of work and is very clean winded, so it would be nice to see her progress through her grades and gradually build up the distances of her races. Congratulation to all the owners and especially to Grant Morgan from Ontrack Thoroughbreds who gave her to us to train. It was also great to see so many of them at the track to watch her. Also thanks to all our staff, they continue to do a tremendous job both here and in Brisbane and our results over the the course of this season are a testament to the dedication and quality of work."
