Born Bad picked a second win from his short career, when accounting for his rivals in the 1200m Bon Hoysted Apprentices Cup at Pakenham. Jumping from barrier 3, jockey Jess Eaton had the gelding in the perfect spot just behind the leader, before producing him turning for home and holding on to get the verdict by a long neck.

"It was a very good win. This fellow has some upside and will progress through his grades. Jess again rode him well and when they went so slow early I was pretty confident that he would end up being very hard to run down. He is still learning and that run will improve him further. Congratulations to the owners, Heran Racing, who are excellent supporters of the stable and have some very nice horses with us and thanks again to all our staff, who continue to do a tremendous job."
