My Bluewings broke her maiden status in style, scoring a strong victory in the 1300m JBL Catering 3 Year Old Fillies Maiden Plate at Seymour. Starting from an inside barrier, jockey Ben Melham was able secure a dream run, just behind the pace, before presenting after turning for home, then working home nicely to win by three quarters of a length.

"Although she is still not quite sure what it is all about, she improved greatly from her first up experience and that really was the difference today and she will only get better the more experience she gains. That said we will not push her, preferring to take our time and allow her mature in her own time, both mentally and physically. It was nice to get another win for Marty Heran and the team and I am sure they will be wrapped with this fillies effort, on the back of Pippies' win last weekend. She is also another terrific example of how our stables at Mornington and at Eagle Farm work so well together, with most of her preliminary work done in Queensland before being brought down here. So a big thanks to our dedicated staff." commented Chris Meagher
