After a number of placings, Boss Rock finally broke his maiden status in winning the 2060m Lynda Gunn Maiden Plate at Cranbourne. After jumping well and being put in the box seat by Noel Callow, he was able to drawn away in the run home to score comfortably by about 1 length.

"The penny still has not quite dropped with this fellow, as he still does quite a few things wrong, but is improving all the time, so it was great to see him win here. As his breedings suggests, he is an out and out stayer, so now that we have the first win out of the way hopefully it will build up his confidence for the future. Noel gave him a peach of a ride, having him in the right spot and timing his run perfectly. Congratulations to the Ontrack group of owners, it is always nice to get a win for them and also a big thanks to all our staff, who continue to do a massive job." Commented John Meagher
