Trevelyan got up in the last stride to break his sequence of second placings to win the 1600m WWW.BRC.COM.AU BM80 at Doomben. The win was more meritorious considering the fact that he was one of the few to come from back in the field on the day, with most winners coming from on the pace or just off it.

"This guy is a very nice progressive horse and has the makings of a good stayer. If anything he was a bit vulnerable today over 1600m after a bit over a month since his last run. But he showed what a great heart he has, getting up in the last stride and overcoming a leader biased track. When you consider they ran the last 600m in the same time as the 1200m Listed race today and he was 6 or 7 lengths behind the leaders at that mark, it makes the win look even better. There are some nice races coming up for him so we will just keep ticking him over and gradually look for bigger and better things. Congratulations to Paul Fudge and the Waratah Team, I am sure they will be thrilled with this. Also plenty of thanks must go to our staff here, who continue to do a tremendous job with the horses we have." Commented Chris Meagher
