Born Bad booked himself a ticket to the Provincial Sprinters Final at Eagle Farm on December 21, when easily accounting for his rivals in the 1200m Surf Lifesaving BM75 at the Gold Coast. Despite being a little slow away, jockey Anthony Allen was able to slot him into a nice position behind the pace, before peeling out turning for home and finishing strongly to win easily.
"We were a little worried about the hard track coming into this and whether he would let go or not, but thankfully he did and ended up winning with a leg in the air, so to speak. It was good to win this, as he is now guaranteed a start in the Provincial Sprinters Final in a months time, so we will just keep him in ticking over until then. It is always good to win for our long time supporters, Heran Racing, so thanks and a big congratulations to them. Thanks also to all our staff, who have done a terrific job with this horse since he has come back up to Queensland from Melbourne." Commented Chris Meagher
